*<\/span> Dark child of distant ancestors do come<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Awaken all the people that are sleep<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Prepare the way with loudly pounded drum<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Make no promise to us you cannot keep<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Instead allow your leadership to grow <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Into the hearts of those who fend you well<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

And share with you our need to have a go<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Of what this nation must weigh and curtail<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

And we will stand in lines to give our vote<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

For greater than one person we promote<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

 ~*~<\/span><\/p>\n

*<\/span> Young one do not hold fear as your platform<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Like those who are so bound and declare war<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

And look on betterment as now the norm<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Erase the evils that held us before<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Commit yourself to do the next right thing<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Do speak and walk with dignity as lead <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

And watch the transformation that it brings<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

For you’ve been thrown into the midst of need <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

In honor hold your head to heights of peace<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Today show us that there is an increase<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

*<\/em><\/strong><\/span> We know that you look to the future state<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Where all are equal and with outstretched arms <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Forgiving past behaviors of Black hate <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

We ask that God will keep you from great harm <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Then, you with honest calm will lead the way <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Where citizens unite with alms of joy <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Like Jericho, the walls a crumbled fray <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

And round about swept up each wicked ploy <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Where each one blends right in, with colored hue <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

For seasons have their sway in what to do<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

~***~<\/span> <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

*<\/em><\/strong><\/span> Dear soldier, hands of healing set your pace <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Engulf this country, yes, stir up the Earth <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

And let the sun of morning pique your face <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Revive us with your portion of rebirth <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Enlist to all the ears that will entreat <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

With words that do not candy nor do coat <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

That’s seen in glaze of eyes whene’er we meet <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

And proudly we will wear the badge of wrote <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

But speak the plainest truth one can behold <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

What transpires just now has been foretold<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

~****~<\/span> <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

*<\/em><\/strong><\/span> How proud you’ve made so many of themselves <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

By standing as a man should always do <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

And when we see the year two-thousand twelve <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

We will repeat, and vote for you then too <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

For this new age dictates a different skit <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

And some will never fully understand <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

So keep on Brother never call it quits <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

             For you have forces with you in this land <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Your causes have to make a shift in tone <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

And know that you will never be alone *<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n
